Stephanie’s Bio:

Stephanie Blackwell is a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Master Social Worker in the state of New York. She has a profound commitment to fostering positive change in the lives of others in the community.

Stephanie’s social work education journey began after obtaining her Associates Degree in Human Services from SUNY Westchester Community College in 2020. Following, she completed a Bachelor of Social Work from Molloy University in 2023 and obtained her Master of Social Work from Fordham University in 2024. Stephanie also received a Specialized Certificate in Crisis and Resilience and her CASAC-T Certification.

Stephanie has over 25 years of experience in the human services field, supporting, advocating, and serving members of the community. She brings a diverse background of experience to her work including working with trauma survivors from adolescents to adults. Central to Stephanie’s trauma informed therapeutic approach is the belief that the counseling process is a collaborative alliance, with the client as the expert of their own lives. A cornerstone of Stephanie’s therapeutic
approach is her commitment to practicing with unconditional positivity and belief in oneself. She prioritizes creating a safe and non-judgmental space where space where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences openly and freely.

By fostering an environment of acceptance and understanding, Stephanie encourages individuals to access their strengths and engage in the therapeutic process with trust and confidence.

Stephanie focuses on helping clients navigate and overcome challenges related to depression, anxiety, substance use, self-esteem challenges, grief/loss, domestic violence, and traumatic experiences. In this work with clients, Stephanie combines a variety of therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strengths Bases Perspective, Mindfulness, Person-
Centered, Family Systems, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Focused, Narrative Therapy, and Crisis Intervention all while functioning from a cultural humility lens in all aspects of her work and life.
